Visit to the Zlín region

 On November 18^th, 2015 a Business Day of the Republic of Belarus, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of the Zlín region, was held in Zlín.

Participants were informed about the status and prospects of economic cooperation between Belarus and the Czech Republic, current investment proposals, successful experiences of specific Czech companies on the Belarusian market, activities of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange and about a public procurement system.

Particular attention was paid to the recommendation for Czech companies to start a penetration to the Eurasian Economic Union market with the establishment of production plants in the Republic of Belarus, which in its first steps significantly less likely to face stiff unfair competition from transnational corporations. Such companies are provided with a range of benefits and incentives, even with regard to activities on the territories with developed logistics, energy and industrial infrastructure and highly skilled manpower.

The head representative office of the State concern “Belneftekhim”, which was opened in the Czech Republic in the year 2014, made a presentation of its companies and products.

As part of the Business Day of the Republic of Belarus the Belarusian delegation met with Stanislav Mišák, Hetman of the Zlín Region. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Czech Republic Valery Kurdyukov stressed the need to make greater use of the potential of regional cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Czech Republic through a more active involvement of local chambers of commerce and industry associations. Stanislav Mišák supported this idea, noting that the strengthening of cooperation could also be facilitated by joint projects in the cultural sphere. Parties, in particular, agreed to consider the possible organization of mutual visits of representatives of regional authorities, businessmen and artistes in the framework of Belarusian and Czech harvest festivals “Dozhinki”.
