Оn consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and the Czech Republic on the level of heads of economic departments

Оn January 19th, 2017 the first consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Belarus and the Czech Republic on the level of heads of economic departments took place in Prague.

Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Valery Kolesnik, the Czech delegation  – by the Director of the Economic Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Mr. Marek Svoboda. Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic also took part in the consultations.

During negotiations Sides discussed joint activities to support trade, economic and investment cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Czech Republic, interaction between Belarus and the EU on trade, economic and investment tracks in the framework of the Eastern Partnership and other initiatives, cooperation of the Republic of Belarus and the Czech Republic in the context of the dialogue between Belarus and the World Trade Organization, interactions between the Republic of Belarus and the Czech Republic within the framework of Chinese initiatives, including “The Silk Road Economic Belt” and in the fields of Forum “16+1” and wide range of other topics of mutual interest in economic sphere.

The Belarusian Delegation also held negotiations in the Czech-Belarusian chamber of industry and trade and in the Agency «CzechTrade».
