On the visit of the Czech business delegation to Vitebsk
31.10.2019 г.On October 30, 2019 the delegation of the Czech business delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Martin Tlapa visited Vitebsk.
In the framework of the visit the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Marin Tlapa met with First Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk regional executive committee O.Matskevich. Ambassador of Belarus to the Czech Republic V.Kurdyukov, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Belarus T. Pernicky, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce for the CIS countries F.Masopust also took part in the negotiation.
The sides discussed status and prospects of bilateral co-operation between the Republic of Belarus and the Czech Republic, the development of contacts between the countries at the regional level, as well as favorable business environment terms for investments developed in the Vitebsk region. The parties expressed interest in the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation and the implementation of new joint projects.
As a part of the visit program, the Czech delegation took part in the first regional Belarusian-Czech Business Forum, organized with the support of the Vitebsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In his speech, Deputy Minister M.Tlapa noted the high level of interaction between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Belarus, the growth of turnover, as well as the intention of the Czech side to develop cooperation between the regions. As an example, he cited the cooperation established by the Minsk region and the Vysochina Region. “The Vitebsk region is also of interest to us, as it is a large industrial region. There are already examples of successful joint business cooperation. Now we see spheres of mutual interest with the region in the production of wastewater treatment facilities, projects related to agriculture and innovative technologies”, — said Deputy Minister M.Tlapa.
The parties confirmed confidence that the meeting will be the key for further development of bilateral relations.
At the end of the work of the Business forum, the Vitebsk branch of the BelCCI and the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the CIS countries signed the Agreement on cooperation. The Agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce for the CIS countries F.Masopust and the General Director of the Vitebsk branch of the BelCCI N.Vorobyeva.
